Resolve to be at the ready, it can always be Tea Time

By Paula Myers

I love New Year’s resolutions and I’ll tell you why. I always resolve to do something I really want to do instead of something that I wish I wanted to do.

One year my resolution was to never be without whipped cream in the house; another year, to kiss more. For 2016, my resolution is to have at least one guest for tea, at least once a month. If you need a reason for tea, here’s a start:

  • a friends birThday
  • my birThday
  • elvisbirThday
  • a friend has had a rough week
  • a friend has someThing To celebrate my camellias have bloomed.

And remember, At The Ready doesn’t have to be extravagant.  Here are some very simple things you can serve with tea:

The last of the holiday cookies, any food gift you receive, a box of shortbread from the grocery store
cinnamon toast that glutenfree scone recipe youve been wanting to try leftover appetizers or dessert from a party.  As we close out the old year and ring in the new, won’t you join me in resolving to make 2016 the year that you are truly At The Ready for Tea? I’d love to hear from you if you do.
